OUR STORY
Based in the Welsh Market Town of Hay-on-Wye, Hawthorn is the personal gallery and permanent exhibition of Welsh Artist Barry Martin-Andrews. Originally from South Wales and a long term resident of Hay-On-Wye, his work specialises in contemporary atmospheric Welsh landscapes employing an alchemy of inks, pigments, solutions, soot, ash, charcoal, tannin, metal powders, graphite and anything else that happens to fall in his path. Hawthorn also offers a selection of unique Jewellery, Woodturning, Leatherwork, Art & Occasion Cards and Guest Stands from other local artisans and makers

Woodturning
There's a real joy to picking up a piece of wood! Mike Steele creates a wonderful selection of bowls, vases and pots from sustainably sourced various types of wood. He carefully celebrates the natural beauty of each individual piece unlocking the character hidden within.
Jewellery
We stock a stunning selection of beautiful and unique contemporary jewellery, produced by our favourite UK makers and designers. Sterling Silver, Gold Vermeil, Titanium, Niobium, Acrylic, Resin and Glass are just some of the materials used.
Ceramics
Beautiful ceramics, handmade by our favourite potters. We hold work created using a variety of materials and techniques from traditional to modern.
